Transportation Project Manager

Garver is seeking an experienced
Transportation Project Manager to join our growing team in Round Rock or Austin. This role will lead and manage transportation projects-including schematic and PS&E design-while developing client relationships, pursuing new projects, mentoring staff, and contributing to Garver's continued growth in the region.
Responsibilities
- Manage successful completion of transportation projects, including schematic and PS&E roadway design.
- Direct and coordinate work for multidisciplinary internal teams and subconsultants.
- Produce and oversee multiple projects concurrently, including plan production and design deliverables.
- Establish and maintain strong client relationships with TxDOT, Central Texas Regional Mobility Authority (CTRMA), Capital Area Metropolitan Planning Organization (CAMPO), municipalities, and similar clients.
- Participate in marketing efforts: prepare proposals/LOIs, scopes, schedules, and fees; support interviews and presentations.
- Coordinate staffing and workload throughout the project lifecycle to ensure timely delivery.
- Implement and monitor QA/QC procedures.
- Mentor and supervise Project Engineers, EITs, and lessexperienced Project Managers.
- Prepare and review cost estimates and support utility coordination, construction sequencing, and traffic control planning.
- Perform design for roadways/interchanges and support roadway, drainage, bridge, traffic control, signing/pavement marking, and bicycle/pedestrian facilities.
- Support client interaction and serve as a sellerdoer as part of Garver's growth strategy.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in civil engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
- Licensed Professional Engineer (PE).
- 10-20 years of relevant transportation/roadway experience (TxDOT or Central Texas experience and relationships preferred).
- Strong working knowledge of:
- TxDOT Roadway Design Manual, TMUTCD, and TxDOT processes
- AASHTO Green Book, Roadside Design Guide, HCM
- Proficient with Bentley tools (MicroStation, OpenRoads, Geopak) and MS Office/Office 365.
- Strong written, verbal, interpersonal, and leadership skills; ability to mentor and be mentored.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous consulting experience with a primary focus on TxDOT, CTRMA, or municipal roadway projects.
- TxDOT Pre-Certifications
- Existing Central Texas client contacts.
- Experience preparing scopes, schedules, and fee proposals.
- Proven project management experience with direct client interaction.
- 3D roadway design experience.
- Active involvement in professional industry organizations
