School of Nursing Job Description
The University of Missouri's Sinclair School Of Nursing invites applications for a professional clinical educator and nursing consultant position. Primary responsibilities include providing education and technical assistance to long-term care (LTC) facility nursing staff in quality improvement practices, latest clinical evidence-based practices in nursing and health care, and evidence-based organizational improvement practices via extensive travel, by phone, email, webinars, or virtual meetings. Publicly speaks and/or conducts presentations in large and small group settings. Utilizes and maintains expertise in gerontological nursing, care for the elderly, or other as necessitated for the role. The Clinical Educator and Consultant will serve nursing homes and LTC facilities primarily in the St. Louis/Eastern region of Missouri; therefore, travel is required throughout St. Louis and the eastern region of the state with occasional travel to other locations. Residing in the service area is preferred. Key responsibilities: Works directly with MO's LTC facility management staff in the implementation of teams for decision-making and quality improvement as well as the ability to work with all levels of MO's LTC facility staff to assist them in developing high-performing work teams. Maintains confidentiality. Working knowledge in the following areas is necessary to provide effective consultation:
Establishes and maintains collaborative working relationships with interdisciplinary faculty and research staff at the University of Missouri to develop needed links with experts in many areas that may be essential to assisting facilities with many kinds of clinical and organizational practice issues. Establishes and maintains collaborative working relationships with the staff of the MO Department of Health and Senior Services (MODHSS) and carries out the required work in collaboration with the MODHSS. In addition, this role may include coordinating and building relationships with LTC facilities in MO who participate in MU research projects. Effectively collaborates among all members of the MU QIPMO team. Completes timely entries into a database of all facility contacts (on-site visits, phone calls, e-mails, virtual visits, etc.). Shift
8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday, with evening and weekend hours as necessary Minimum Qualifications
A Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience, and at least 4 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary Preferred Qualifications
Anticipated Hiring Range
