The Tax Exemption team at Verizon has a great opportunity for a Senior Tax Analyst. In this role, you will gain exposure to a world-class Tax department.

What you'll be doing...

  • Timely review and processing of customer tax exemption requests for Verizon Business and Verizon Wireline customer accounts.
  • Demonstrate understanding of tax exemption requirements for various levels of taxes and customer exemption classes.
  • Respond to questions from Customer Care Reps with regard to customer tax exemption requests and tax billing issues.
  • Communicate tax exemption procedures to Customer Care groups to ensure compliance with policies.
  • Interface with various tax groups such as Tax Billing, Research, Compliance, Audit, IT and Regulatory in order to address issues and questions regarding exemptions and taxability, and provide support for audit defense.
  • Respond to requests from vendors for Verizon tax exemption documents.
  • Participate in special projects supporting exemption certificate updates, billing system conversions, various business transactions and implementation of process improvements in a team environment.

What we're looking for...

You'll need to have:

  • Bachelor's degree or four or more years of work experience.
  • Three or more years of relevant work experience required, demonstrated through work and/or military experience.
  • Microsoft Excel experience.
  • Transaction Tax or Finance experience.

Even better if you have one or more of the following:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Tax.
  • General knowledge of sales/use tax and how it relates to exemptions.
  • State tax compliance and/or accounting background
  • Knowledge of Alteryx
  • Desire to develop in a dynamic, large corporate Tax environment.
  • Strong analytical and communications skills.

Where you'll be working
In this hybrid role, you'll have a defined work location that includes working from home and a minimum of three days per week in the office, which will be set by your manager. The salary will vary depending on your location and confirmed job-related skills and experience. This is an incentive based position with the potential to earn more. For part-time roles, your compensation will be adjusted to reflect your hours. The annual salary range for the location(s) listed on this job requisition based on a full-time schedule is: $74,000.00 - $121,000.00.
