Wolfram, creator of Mathematica, Wolfram|Alpha and Wolfram Language, has an exciting opportunity available for a Systems Technician to join its Internal Technical Services team. The Internal Technical Services team is the first line in assisting Wolfram employees with hardware assembly, repair, deployment and upkeep of company-provided materials.

This is an onsite position, working first shift Monday-Friday. Additionally, a clear employment verification and background check will be required for this role.

Responsibilities



  • Working with and assisting end users, including executive staff
  • Gathering details and troubleshooting in a friendly and creative environment
  • Maintaining and building upon documentation for both user and internal company reference
  • Maintaining a polite, respectful and versatile demeanor


Qualifications



  • Working knowledge of Windows and macOS systems
  • Must have strong attention to detail
  • Must have critical-thinking and problem-solving abilities
  • Must be a confident and effective communicator, both in person and virtually
  • Must be able to give and receive instructions regarding troubleshooting tech-related problems, from the simplest to the most complex of issues
  • Background in customer service and/or IT support
  • Basic understanding of Linux systems is preferred


Location: On-site in Champaign, Illinois, USA
Job type: Full time (40 hours per week)/Permanent
Reporting to: Manager, Internal Technical Services
Salary (for eligible candidates residing in the United States): The salary for this position is $45,000 per year.
