FlexStaff is hiring an RBT (Registered Behavioral Technician) to join our client's team. This involves working closely with school-aged children (k-12), implementing IEPs under BCBA supervision, and maintaining a positive learning environment.

Location: Commack, NY

Pay: $28.00 - $40.00 per hour based on experience

Role Functions:



  1. Implement behavior intervention plans and individualized education plans (IEPs) as directed by the supervising BCBA.
  2. Collect and accurately record data on student progress and behaviors during sessions.
  3. Collaborate with the supervising BCBA, teachers, staff, and families to assess student needs and modify treatment approaches. You will also provide training to school staff and caregivers on behavioral strategies and techniques.
  4. Provide direct support with empathy and respect, fostering a positive experience for students.
  5. Maintain confidentiality, adhere to HIPAA regulations, and school policies in all interactions.
  6. Engage in ongoing training to enhance skills in behavioral therapy and autism support.


Educational Requirements: We require a minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalent, though many of our successful candidates hold or are pursuing an associate or bachelor's degree in psychology, Education, or a related field. The candidate must have a current RBT certification.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Data Collection & Reporting: Collect and accurately record data on student progress and behaviors during sessions.
  • Collaboration & Training: Collaborate with the supervising BCBA, teachers, staff, and families to assess student needs.
  • Confidentiality: Maintain confidentiality, adhere to HIPAA regulations, and school policies.


Skills and Qualifications:



  • Experience: Previous experience working with children, particularly those with autism or developmental disabilities, is required.
  • Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of ABA principles and techniques. Familiarity with IEP, FBA, and BIP is a plus.
  • Communication: Excellent communication skills for collaborating with school staff and families.
