As an unarmed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal at a shelter location, you will conduct routine patrols, remain highly visible, and respond to security-related concerns to help reduce incidents. You will support staff and residents with clear communication, customer service, and incident documentation, while following site procedures and reporting issues promptly. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a shelter location.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including de-escalation and timely notification to site leadership and/or emergency services as needed.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of interior and exterior areas, including entrances, common areas, and perimeter, to help to deter unauthorized access and/or prohibited activity.
  • Monitor access points and visitor flow, verify authorization when required, and document arrivals, departures, and key events per site guidelines.
  • Complete written and/or electronic reports, log patrol observations, and communicate hazards, maintenance concerns, and policy issues to the appropriate parties.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Have 1 or more years of security-related experience.
  • Client requires proof of a high school diploma or GED.
  • Be 21 or more years of age.
  • CPR and/or First Aid certification is preferred.
  • Alarm panel experience is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
