Job Summary
The Vice President, Global Logistics and Distribution will be responsible for leading the strategy for logistics, supply chain, warehousing, and transport, focusing on efficiency, cost reduction, and customer satisfaction by optimizing product flow, managing networks (3PLs, facilities), implementing/utilizing technology, overseeing teams, handling budgets, and ensuring compliance/risk management, connecting all parts from procurement to final delivery for seamless operations. This position will report directly to the Vice President, Global Operations.

Essential Functions

  • Strategic Leadership: Develop and execute long-term logistics and distribution strategies including global warehouse site optimization, 3PL partnerships, and expansion that are aligned with business goals.

  • Operational Oversight and Execution: Develop efficient logistics and transportation strategies to ensure timely order fulfillment and product delivery. Implement warehouse management best practices to improve storage, handling, and fulfillment. Drive cost reduction initiatives while maintaining service excellence.

  • Network Optimization: Streamline processes, reduce costs, improve delivery times, and manage 3PL/vendor relationships.

  • Team Leadership: Lead and mentor large global teams, fostering a culture of continuous improvement through Lean and Six Sigma methodologies and collaboration.

  • Financial & Risk Management: Budget oversight, cost control, and developing strategies to mitigate risks.

  • Regulatory & Risk Oversight: Ensures compliance with international trade laws, FDA/ISO standards, and OSHA safety protocols while developing robust business continuity plans. Oversee supply chain compliance with FDA regulations, ISO standards, and other industry requirements. Implement best practices to maintain product quality and safety throughout the supply chain.

  • Enhance Inventory Management and Demand Planning: Develop forecasting models to ensure optimal inventory levels and prevent stockouts or excess inventory. Collaborate with sales and manufacturing teams to align supply with demand. Utilize technology-driven solutions such as Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), Transportation Management Systems (TMS), and ERP platforms for real-time inventory tracking and management.

  • Drive Cost Efficiency and Process Improvement: Identify and implement cost-saving initiatives across logistics, distribution and inventory management. Leverage data analytics and automation to enhance decision-making and operational efficiency. Establish KPIs to measure and improve supply chain performance.

Required/Preferred Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business or related field required

  • Master's Degree preferred

  • 15 + Years of progressive leadership in global logistics, with at least 5 years in Sr Executive role.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Extensive Logistics Leadership Experience - Proven success in leading and managing global or multi-regional operations. Medical device industry preferred. A deep understanding of end-to-end supply chain processes, from procurement to distribution, is essential.

  • Strategic and Analytical Thinking - The ability to develop and execute data-driven strategies to optimize supply chain operations, reduce costs, and enhance efficiency while maintaining product quality and customer satisfaction. Strong strategic and analytical skills, with a track record of developing and implementing successful logistics initiatives.

  • Proven Track Record in Supplier and Vendor Management - Strong experience in negotiating contracts, managing vendor relationships, and implementing supplier performance evaluation systems.

  • Process Improvement and Lean Management Expertise - Familiarity with Lean, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies to drive operational excellence, eliminate waste, and enhance efficiency.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration Skills - Ability to work closely with manufacturing, sales, finance, and regulatory teams to ensure supply chain alignment with overall business objectives.

  • Exceptional Leadership and Team Development Skills - Experience in building, mentoring, and leading high-performing supply chain teams. Strong ability to foster collaboration, accountability, and a results-driven culture.

  • Global Supply Chain Exposure - Experience in managing international suppliers, logistics, and regulatory frameworks will be a plus.

  • Strong Regulatory Knowledge - Expertise in FDA regulations, ISO standards, and other compliance requirements related to medical device manufacturing and distribution. Experience in ensuring supply chain compliance with global health and safety standards is highly valued.

The annual salary for this position is:

$240,000.00 to $300,000.00
