Position Summary
The Graduate Program Administrator will be responsible for communicating with faculty, staff, and graduate students in regards to policies and procedures for graduate students. This position will advise faculty, staff, and graduate students as needed throughout the student's progress to complete degree requirements. In addition to email, telephone, and walk-in appointments, this position will monitor degree progress for students. This position will be responsible for processing all forms for graduate students as well as perform format checks of electronic theses and dissertations. This position will use discretion and independent judgment with respect to clearance of graduate degrees. This position will work with a large volume of graduate students and must be able to perform work quickly and pay attention to details.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and/or Competencies

  • Excellent customer service skills and ability to perform in a fast-paced office environment.
  • Accuracy and attention to detail are essential.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office systems, including Microsoft Access and Microsoft Excel databases.
  • Knowledge of Banner, Slate, and Argos.

Pulling graduation spreadsheets from Argos and working with students in graduation. Must work independently to review graduate students that apply for graduation each semester. Must verify that the graduate student meets requirements for graduation. Advise students, faculty and staff of degree requirements for graduate level degrees.

Clear graduate degrees each semester. Must use discretion and judgement to determine degree completion. Must work quickly to clear degrees by the timeline set for degree clearance.

Process requests for degree objective changes, programs of study, advisory committee forms, transfer of credit and admission to candidacy. Must have knowledge of Graduate School policies.

Process format checks for electronic theses and dissertations. Must have knowledge of ETD guidelines. Must have basic editing skills.
