Position Summary

The Consumer Banking Change and Risk Governance Manager plays a critical role in driving strategic change initiatives across all consumer banking channels, including Frontline Support, Customer Care, Training, Branch Network, and Product. This role ensures procedural integrity, regulatory compliance, and operational readiness while serving as a key liaison for audit and risk reporting. The ideal candidate will possess strong project management, governance, and cross-functional collaboration skills, with a deep understanding of consumer banking operations and regulatory expectations. In addition, this role functions as an embedded risk and governance partner within the first line of defense, actively supporting compliance and regulatory requirements in close collaboration with the second and third lines of defense. Duties & Responsibilities

Lead Change Readiness Initiatives

  • Develop and execute rollout plans including new system and product readiness plans across all consumer banking channels
  • Assess branch-specific needs and tailor readiness strategies.
  • Track post-implementation performance and user engagement.
  • Escalate risks or delays impacting implementation.
  • Complete the Consumer Banking Change Impact and Risk Assessment Review

Ensure Procedural Governance

  • Maintain regulatory, compliance, and control standards in procedures.
  • Collaborate with Legal and Compliance to validate procedural changes.
  • Review and approve consumer deposit procedures and training materials.
  • Identify procedures requiring continuing education based on risk or complexity.

Support Audit & Compliance

  • Act as the primary liaison for second and third line of defense activities, including internal audit, compliance testing, and regulatory reviews.
  • Serve as the central point of contact for audit requests and testing, ensuring timely and accurate responses.
  • Coordinate the collection and submission of documentation to meet audit and compliance standards.
  • Track audit findings and manage resolution plans with stakeholders.

Drive Consumer Risk & Compliance Reporting

  • Develop dashboards and materials for quarterly branch risk reviews.
  • Ensure data integrity across reporting outputs.
Education & Experience

Knowledge of:

  • Strong understanding of regulatory requirements and audit processes within financial services.
  • Proven ability to manage cross-functional initiatives and communicate effectively across all levels of the organization.
  • Experience with reporting tools and dashboards

Ability to:

  • Travel as needed, both within and outside Busey markets. Some travel could require overnight stays of up to one business week.
  • Work independently and make decisions.
  • Perform duties and make decisions under frequent time pressures.

Education and Training:

  • Bachelor's degree in business, Finance, Risk Management, or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in consumer banking, risk governance, compliance, or change management.

Benefits and Compensation

Salary offered is based on factors, including but not limited to, the job duties, required qualifications and relevant experience, and local market trends. The role may be eligible for bonus or incentives based on company and individual performance.

(Base Pay Range: $72,000 - $94,000/yearly)
