Job Summary

Responsible for the day-to-day maintenance, repair and upkeep of processing, drying, pelleting, packaging and rolling equipment. Conducts machine testing, troubleshooting and performs emergency repairs as directed by the Maintenance Supervisor. Ensure a safe and clean work place, while striving for a zero incident culture.

Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Maintains and repairs all processing, conveying and packaging equipment used in the production of wood pellets.
  2. Maintains and repairs all mobile equipment utilized in a wood pellet manufacturing facility.
  3. Welding.
  4. Performs electrical and controls troubleshooting and repairs under direction from appropriate support personnel.
  5. Performs, directs and documents preventative maintenance tasks.
  6. Contributes to the production of and adherence to an annual maintenance budget.
  7. Maintains a safe, clean, orderly accident-free work environment.
  8. Adheres to company safety policies and OSHA standards.
  9. Additional duties and responsibilities as assigned by management

Qualification Requirements

  • Must be able to lift and carry 50-pound loads.
  • Must be able to climb stairs and ladders.
  • Must be able to work for long periods under a wide range of ambient conditions.
  • Must be able to work flexible hours.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Debendability - regularly attends and is punctual for work.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Experienced with all aspects of manufacturing or processing plant maintenance.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to pay attention to detail.
  • Show a commitment to teamwork, being results oriented.
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills and effective organizational skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to interact with co-workers, contractors, and suppliers on a professional level.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • High school diploma or equivalent, plus two years or more experience maintaining computer-controlled processing or manufacturing plants.

Physical Requirements

* Requires the ability to lift up to 50 pounds without assistance and up to 75 pounds with assistance


* Must be able to perform work capabilities at height levels of six feet and higher with the use of proper ladders or designated equipment


* Must be able to work at various heights and in tight or enclosed spaces
