Performs duties involving the cleaning and disinfection of areas occupied at Boys Town.
SCHEDULE: Downtown Clinic-555 N 30t Street.

Wednesday 1:30-p.m.-10:00 p.m., Thursday 1:30-10p; Saturday 8a-4:30p

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES: Performs general cleaning duties and monitors maintenance conditions.
  • Perform routine and maintenance cleaning and disinfection processes in areas assigned (i.e. exam rooms, classroom, gym, locker room auditorium, office, cafeteria, restrooms, showers, etc.) in adherence to all regulatory and accreditation standards (CMS, Joint Commission, etc.), which may include but not limited to: general cleaning and disinfection, hard surface maintenance, floor refurbishing, carpet and upholstery extraction.
  • Maintains an uncluttered environment; identifies and reports possible safety hazards.
  • Secure buildings at the end of the day to ensure security and confinement (doors and windows)
  • Spot clean walls, wash windows as needed and remove waste and litter.
  • Utilizes approved chemicals according to manufacturer directions with appropriate PPE
  • Reports safety concerns when identified, i.e. floods, sewer back ups, broken water lines, leaks, tripping hazards, equipment malfunction, environmental concerns, break/fix issues, etc.
  • Completes all required training and competencies as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
  • Ability to perform all assigned tasks per policy and as directed in a professional manner.
  • Ability to communicate and maintain a satisfactory and harmonious working relationship with all levels of leadership, staff, public, and other consumers in a professional, courteous and tactful manner.
  • Ability to apply knowledge of general Departmental, FFBH and BTNRH policies and administrative procedures.
  • Basic computer skills.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Ability to speak, read, and write basic English required.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • High school or equivalent preferred.
  • Previous custodial experience preferred.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS, EQUIPMENT USAGE, WORK ENVIRONMENT:
  • Medium physical demand level: Occasionally (0-33% of shift) lifting, carrying, pushing and pulling up to 50 lbs; Frequently (34-66% of shift) lifting, carrying, pushing and pulling up to 20 lbs; Constantly (67-100% of shift) lifting, carrying, pushing and pulling up to 10 lbs. A combination of constant standing and walking throughout an 8-hour shift is required. Requires the ability to reach overhead, reach to the floor, kneeling/stooping/squatting on an occasional (0-33%) to frequent (34-66%) rate to access all areas that require cleaning. Constant (67-100%) dominant hand grasping and occasional (34-66%) grasping with both hands.Subject to inside environmental conditions. Protection from weather conditions, but not necessarily from temperature changes. Occasionally, sufficient noise to cause the worker to shout in order to be heard above the ambient noise level; vibrations from oscillating movements of extremities or whole body; exposure to chemicals contained in cleaning solutions.
