DESCRIPTION OF WORK

In this position, you will play a vital role within our maintenance team, supporting the Forest Maintenance Supervisor in various tasks related to repair, upkeep, forest fire management, and overall operations of the Quehanna Maintenance Division. Your daily responsibilities may involve manual labor, operating basic equipment, tools, and vehicles, as well as maintaining these tools and collaborating with other team members to fulfill your duties. Additionally, you may be temporarily assigned to assist other divisions within the Moshannon State Forest District as needed.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • This is a seasonal, full-time position with no healthcare benefits. The season runs from approximately March 2026, through November 2026, at which time the employee will be placed on leave without pay. The employee will automatically be returned to employment March 2027.
  • Work hours are 6:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Thursday, Friday - ADO, with a 30-minute lunch.
  • Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • One year of experience in laboring work including the use of tools and equipment used in maintenance or construction; or
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training.

Condition of Employment:
  • This position requires a Class C non-commercial drivers license.

Other Requirements:
