The Compliance Analyst will assist the Compliance Manager in overseeing various aspects of GATX's Ethics & Compliance program. The primary goal of this position is to provide exceptional compliance support to ensure proper administration and execution of various aspects of our Ethics & Compliance program globally. Areas of focus include assisting our global business partners with third-party due diligence, administering the conflict of interest reporting system, assisting with compliance risk assessments, and providing support for department communications and improvement initiatives. The ideal candidate must exercise sound judgment and discretion when dealing with confidential and privileged information. This is an interactive position that provides high visibility to all levels of management across our global businesses.



Responsibilities

    Collaborate with regional compliance officers to carry out third-party due diligence programs and economic sanctions screening.
  • Review third-party due diligence information for customers, vendors, agents, brokers, and joint ventures in accordance with established procedures.
  • Oversee the complete process of collecting and reviewing internal and external documentation, questionnaires, and ensuring they are fully completed before establishing business relationships.
  • Support the daily management of sanctions/risk alerts, including communicating with global business partners and examining whether alerts need further attention.
  • Assist in monitoring GATX Corporate compliance policies, procedures, guidelines, and programs in collaboration with the Compliance Manager, including managing multiple Ethics & Compliance shared emails to ensure timely response to inquiries, training, and compliance-related requests from the business.
  • Organize and facilitate ethics and compliance awareness communications and reporting.
  • Update compliance risk assessment documentation, policies, procedures, templates, and user guides.
  • Provide support in developing and carrying out data analytics initiatives.
  • Support compliance program reviews and audits, as needed.
  • Manage the conflicts of interest disclosure program and gift & entertainment program from initial reporting through escalation and resolution of identified disclosures.
  • Assist the Compliance Manager and Chief Compliance Officer in global initiatives to further develop and improve the company's Ethics & Compliance program.
  • Maintain awareness of industry issues and regulatory compliance developments to continuously improve GATX's Ethics & Compliance practices.


Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • 2+ years applicable experience (minimum) as an ethics and compliance professional, ideally for a publicly traded, multi-national company.
  • Bachelor's degree and/or accredited compliance management certification.
  • Knowledge of compliance standards and best practices for an effective anti-bribery/anti-corruption compliance program.
  • Proficiency in various web-based software applications, including Microsoft Office Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, etc.
  • Strong analytical and project management skills, highly organized.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively engage and collaborate across functions and teams in the organization.
  • Ability to work on confidential matters with independent judgment.

Other Requirements

  • Minimal travel: approximately 1 to 2 trips annually, including domestic and international locations
  • Hybrid work model - 60% of working days in the Chicago office, the remainder from home (remote).

Min

USD $61,200.00/Yr.


Max

USD $77,000.00/Yr.
This role may be eligible to participate in the Company's short-term incentive plan, the details of which will be provided to the applicant upon hire.
This range is a reasonable estimate and takes into account several factors that are considered in making compensation decisions, including, but not limited to, geographic location, skill set, experience, education, training, internal equity, and other business needs.
