Environmental Scientist

Mead & Hunt, a nationally recognized professional services consulting firm, is seeking a highly motivated individual to join our water resources group.

Responsibilities include:

• Assisting with wastewater/water discharge permitting and industrial pretreatment programs including completing permit applications
• Assisting with development of technically based local limits and implementation of pretreatment programs
• Conducting surface water quality studies
• Writing technical reports
• Completing field surveys and site visits
• Consulting with clients and resource agencies
• Assisting with business development through client relationships
• Some travel will be required

The successful candidate will have:

• A bachelor's degree (or higher) from an accredited college or university in biology, ecology, environmental science, or a related field, and at least ten (10) years of relevant work experience

The ideal candidate will have experience with any/all of the following:

• Completing permit application forms
• Creating figures required to be submitted with applications
• Reviewing and validating analytical data for water, non-potable waters, and biosolids
• Assisting with Multi-Sector General Permits and Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plans compliance and implementation
• Developing pretreatment programs and technically based local limits
• Conducting surface water and wastewater sampling
• Interpreting federal and state environmental regulations
• Working with state agency personnel
• Conducting meetings
