SOME (So Others Might Eat) provides material aid and comfort to our vulnerable neighbors in the District of Columbia, helping them to break the cycle of poverty and homelessness through programs and services that save lives, improve lives, and help to transform the lives of individuals and families, their communities, and the systems and structures that affect them. We meet immediate needs with food, clothing, and healthcare, and offer the tools one needs to live with hope, dignity, and greater independence. Compensation: Position Description: The Contractor shall provide academic skills training to support students' readiness for college-level coursework, with a focus on writing, critical thinking, digital literacy, and study skills. Qualifications: Required: Associate's degree; 2 yrs. in community engagement, development, education outreach, or faith-based organizing. Preferred: Bachelor's degree preferred; Degree in nonprofit management, communications, public affairs, or related field preferred. 5+ years of experience in community engagement, development, education outreach, or faith-based organizing. Required License/Certification: N/A Schedule: 8 hours per day; 2 days per week. To not exceed 16 hours per week. The Contractor shall deliver instruction and support in the following areas:

Service Delivery Services may be provided through group workshops, small-group sessions, or individual support, delivered in person, virtually, or in a hybrid format as determined by the program. Physical Demands: Must be able to lift up to 20 pounds. Requires looking at a computer screen for several hours a day. May be required to sit for long periods.
