Assistant General Counsel - Litigation Hybrid | Atlanta, GA We're looking for an experienced legal leader to oversee E&O claims and litigation for Crawford & Company. This role partners closely with the Deputy General Counsel and advises business leaders on risk, claims, and regulatory matters. What You'll Do
- Oversee E&O claims and litigation matters
- Manage relationships with E&O insurers and brokers, including claims bordereau
- Advise leaders on E&O audits and largeloss claim tracking
- Provide legal counsel, research, and written legal opinions
- Manage outside counsel across global jurisdictions

- Oversees a team that provides legal, regulatory, or litigation support.
- Supervises the Global Director of Records Information Management and the Litigation Services Manager.
- Reviews various documents, materials, events and problems to identify potential legal issues and makes oral and written recommendations outlining solutions which minimize the legal exposure to the company.
- Prepares quarterly, E&O claims bordereau in coordination with Finance and Analytics Departments, and submits same to primary and excess liability carriers.
- Provides E&O training seminars to adjusters to mitigate future risks.
- Delivers quarterly presentations and updates to business leaders on E&O trends and specific large loss summaries.
- Serves as designated point of contact for E&O Task Force, monthly E&O dashboards, and other internal initiatives for business leaders to audit and track claims handling issues to reduce Company exposure.
- Prepares filings and reports to governmental agencies consistent with the level of experience.
- Summarizes contract terms and supports compliance matters.
- Reviews advertisements, press releases and other printed material to identify potential legal issues.
- Manages outside counsel to prepare and conduct prosecution and defense of administrative, legal or regulatory proceedings consistent with level of experience.
- Provides litigation counsel in various global jurisdictions.
- Uphold Crawford & Company Code of Business Conduct at all times.
- Graduate of an accredited law school
- 7+ years previous legal experience required.
- Ability to research and interpret government (federal, state and local) regulations.
- Understanding of E&O claims processes and ability to manage relationships with insurers and brokers.
- Ability to recognize potential for legal problems and devise solutions.
- Very strong negotiation, analytical and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Knowledge of risk management, insurance and claims administration.
- Ability to communicate with direct reports, other team members, manager, and business leaders.
- Ability to maintain acceptable standards of office and professional conduct.
- Ability to get along with others.
- Ability to handle stress and manage stress in a time-sensitive environment.
- Frequent interaction with members of the Legal Department as well as various divisions within the Company.
- Maintain good external relationships.
- Uphold departmental and corporate policies.
- Comply with all performance standards for this position.
- Frequent contact with regulatory authorities, and with internal business unit, regional and branch management personnel. Frequent contact with clients, including senior management. Decisions generally require consideration of business impact and weighing of alternative courses of action.
- Admitted and a member in good standing of at least one state bar.
- Must complete continuing education requirements as outlined by Crawford Educational Services.
