Overview
Our client is seeking a detail-oriented Portfolio Data & Accounting Systems Analyst to support the firm's portfolio management accounting, performance, and data platforms. This role is responsible for ensuring the accuracy and integrity of security, transaction, and position data across multiple systems used by Trading, Portfolio Management, Accounting, and Operations teams. This individual will play a critical role in monitoring daily system controls, resolving data exceptions, maintaining security master records, and supporting front-to-back investment workflows.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and resolve daily data exceptions across portfolio accounting, performance, and data warehouse systems
- Investigate and correct security, transaction, pricing, and position discrepancies
- Maintain and update security master records, including terms, factors, paydowns, and corporate actions
- Validate security data and trade details using Bloomberg and internal audit reports
- Perform security setup and maintenance for new instruments across asset classes
- Reconcile data between trading, accounting, performance, and reporting platforms
- Support internal users by researching data issues and implementing system updates
- Review daily automated audit reports, identify root causes, and resolve anomalies
- Document data issues, resolutions, and control procedures
- Assist with ad hoc reporting and data analysis using Excel and SQL
Required Experience & Skills
- 4+ years of experience in investment operations, portfolio accounting, performance, or financial data roles
- Strong understanding of fixed income and equity instruments and trade lifecycles
- Experience supporting portfolio accounting and performance systems
- Hands-on experience with security master data and corporate actions
- Bloomberg terminal experience for security setup and validation
- Advanced Excel skills; SQL experience is a plus
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and documentation skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, exception-driven environment
- Strong communication skills and ability to partner with business and technology teams
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in asset management, investment operations, or custody environments
- Exposure to data warehouse platforms and reporting tools
- Background in regulated financial services environments
