With over 75 years of experience, we partner with customers across a wide range of industries to deliver projects on time, on budget, and to exacting standards.

Your Role at Acousti

The Project Manager, Flooring manages the full life cycle of large commercial flooring projects-from bid and award through closeout. This role works closely with customers and internal teams to protect and promote the project's best interests, ensuring scope clarity, cost control, schedule performance, and high-quality execution. You'll lead estimating, planning, coordination, and delivery while managing risk and maintaining strong customer relationships throughout the process.

Key Responsibilities

In this role, you will:

  • Review project scope requirements to identify risks and confirm expectations upfront (scope, products, schedule, coordination, etc.)
  • Develop accurate and comprehensive project cost estimates to support pricing decisions and ongoing profitability management
  • Ensure bid proposals are accurate and projects are delivered to profit expectations
  • Perform accurate flooring take-offs and estimating for carpet, resilient, and ceramic scopes
  • Manage projects end-to-end: take-offs, material ordering, scheduling, execution oversight, and closeout/punch lists
  • Maintain a complete understanding of pricing structures and proposal models
  • Support work across corporate, institutional, government, medical, and hospitality markets
  • Serve as a professional, customer-facing representative from initial contact through project completion and/or business closing
  • Build and maintain productive, relationship-driven conversations with end users and decision makers
  • Identify and maximize opportunities to win work and increase market share
  • Sell consultatively by recommending solutions aligned to customer needs and project conditions
  • Develop and maintain a pipeline of qualified leads through referrals, outreach, cold calling, email, and networking
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with internal teams to support project goals, quality standards, and customer expectations

What We're Looking for in You

To succeed in this role, you should have:

  • 3+ years of commercial flooring sales experience (carpet, resilient, and ceramic)
  • Strong knowledge of flooring products and installation methods, including the ability to troubleshoot field issues and anticipate challenges during bidding
  • Demonstrated ability to function independently as an estimator, completing take-offs, cost estimates, and customer proposals
  • Experience managing large flooring projects with accountability to cost, schedule, and quality over extended timelines
  • Ability to understand, evaluate, and respond to customer proposals/RFPs for large renovation and capex projects (blueprints, specs, contract documents)
  • Strong communication skills across customers, construction teams, and project stakeholders (specs, scope, cost, performance challenges)
  • Familiarity with construction industry practices, methods, materials, specifications, and site conditions
  • Proficiency in tools/systems used for estimating, project planning, and tracking
  • Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office
  • Ability to work independently and as a collaborative team player

Preferred Qualifications

  • College degree (preferred), ideally with a construction-related focus
  • Project Management experience in flooring, or a construction-focused degree with applicable project exposure
  • Timberline software experience (helpful)
  • Quick Bid / On-Screen Takeoff experience with above-average accuracy

Position Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED (required)
  • College degree (preferred)
