STGi is currently seeking an Employee Health Nurse Navigator to provide services at the Georgia War Veterans Home.



JOB SUMMARY:


The primary purpose of this position is to promote employee health and safety within the workplace, providing preventative care, and managing work-related injuries and illnesses



ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:


* Maintain employee Health Records and Vaccines required during Onboarding and yearly prerequisites.


* Demonstrates knowledge of techniques, procedures, and correct use of protective barrier equipment (Universal Precautions).


* Will be responsible for all pre-employment testing and vaccination processes, annual N95/TB/ Influenza testing and/or vaccinations, and the management of potential blood exposures, employee illnesses and disease outbreaks.


* Evaluate programs and implement changes as necessary to improve programs and assure compliance with regulatory requirements.


* Communicate revised plans and changes to facility management and governing body.


* Will participate in writing policies, procedures, and protocols.


* Complete necessary forms, reports, etc., and submit to the Administrator as required.


* Teaches CPR to all qualified staff.


* Working collaboratively with other health professionals to address health issues and promote wellness in the workplace


* Maintain accurate health records and prepare reports on employee health trends and program effectiveness


* Strong understanding of workplace health and safety regulations


* Develop and implement health promotion programs and educational initiatives.


* Performs all other related duties as assigned.


* Participate in facility surveys as necessary or as directed.


* Monitoring and assessing the effectiveness of health and safety programs and initiatives


* Must have strong computer and research skills to ensure they remain up to date with new developments, and the best practices and standards of care within the field of healthcare.


* Will develop, alongside Human Resources, policies and procedures for pre-employment and on-boarding processes for employees.


* Excellent communication and organizational skills


* Employee safety rounding


* Family Tours and New Employee Tours.


* Admission Chart Pre-Screenings & Chart Reviews


* Medication cost analysis prior to admission as needed.


* Assist in the Education/Orientation classroom, and CPR Instruction


* Provide QAPI information on employee health.


* Attend outside visits with the Behavior Team as needed, assist with calls to providers, case managers, and families.


* Act as a family/veteran liaison guide prior to and after admission up to 6 weeks.


* Provide the veteran education and consistent point of contact to ease anxiety during adjustment phase.

Required Skills

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:


* Sufficient previous experience in clinical health care including direct experience in quality assurance and performance improvement.


* Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action in a timely fashion.


* Must be a supportive team member, contribute to and be an example of teamwork and team concept.


* Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel and the public.


* Must possess leadership and supervisory ability and the willingness to work harmoniously with other personnel.


* Must have patience, tact, a cheerful disposition and enthusiasm as well as the willingness to handle difficult residents and staff.


* Must be willing to seek out new methods and principles and be willing to incorporate them into existing practices.


* Experience in performing healthcare assessments and reviewing patient charts.

Required Experience

REQUIRED EDUCATION:


* Must have a minimum of a two-year degree.


* Must be a Registered Nurse.



WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:


* Works in office areas as well as throughout the facility and its premises.


* It is subject to frequent interruptions.


* It involves residents, family members, personnel, and visitors under all conditions/circumstances.


* Works beyond normal working hours and on weekends and holidays when necessary.
