Overview

In this role, you will be responsible for direct supervision and coordination of warehouse operations in a retail supply/rental environment. The Warehouse Foreman ensures efficient stock handling, order fulfillment, packaging, shipping, workplace safety, and excellent customer service, while maintaining organization and cleanliness throughout the facility. The role also includes coordination with carriers for pickups and drop-offs and making deliveries to local projects and customer sites.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Execute warehouse responsibilities to ensure stocking, order picking, packaging, and shipping tasks are completed accurately and efficiently.
  • Coordinate and verify shipments with third-party carriers and shipping companies for timely pickups and deliveries.
  • Package orders according to company standards, ensuring that outgoing shipments are correctly prepared, labeled, and documented.
  • Fulfill local delivery (carrier) duties by transporting goods to nearby job sites and customer locations as required.
  • Monitor inventory levels and oversee regular stock checks and cycle counts to support accurate order fulfillment.
  • Maintain a tidy, clean, and organized warehouse, championing best housekeeping practices to support workplace safety and efficiency.
  • Train and mentor warehouse team members in proper handling procedures, order picking techniques, packaging practices, and equipment operation.
  • Champion safety policy and ensure compliance with company safety protocols, including use of personal protective equipment and adherence to regulations.
  • Provide the Warehouse Manager with production and incident reports, including issues, process improvements, and suggestions for operational enhancements.
  • Verify proper job costing of warehouse labor and shipping charges for accurate accounting and reporting.
  • Travel locally as required for carrier and related warehouse duties.
  • Other duties which may be assigned as needed.
  • May supervise others.

To thrive in this role, you'll need:

  • High school diploma and a minimum of five years' experience in warehousing, distribution, or retail supply environments preferred.
  • Valid driver's license required.
  • Strong organizational and verbal communication skills; attention to detail.
  • Ability to understand and carry out detailed written and verbal instructions independently.
  • Sound working knowledge of warehouse procedures, inventory systems, and safety measures.
  • Familiarity with standard shipping and receiving software and equipment.

Environmental Factors and/or Physical Requirements:

While performing the duties of this job, this position is required to have ordinary ambulatory skills sufficient to visit other locations; and the ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, and manipulate (lift, carry, move) light to medium weights of 10-50 pounds. Requires good hand-eye coordination, and arm, hand, and finger dexterity, including the ability to grasp, and visual acuity to use a keyboard, operate equipment, and read application/form information. The associate frequently is required to sit, reach with hands and arms, talk, and hear.
