Job Title: Dental Hygienist

Location: White River Junction, VT 05001

Pay rate: $50/hr.- $60/hr.

Duration: 1 year to long term

Shift: 7:00 AM - 5:30 PM

Job Description:

  • The Dental Hygienist will provide comprehensive dental hygiene care under the supervision of a licensed dentist.
  • This role involves delivering high-quality patient care, supporting clinical operations, and contributing to process improvement initiatives within a pilot program.


Required Qualifications:

  • Associate's degree or higher from an accredited dental hygiene program (CODA-accredited).
  • Current, full, and unrestricted license to practice dental hygiene in Vermont.
  • Certification in radiologic procedures per P.L. 97-35, Omnibus Budget Reconciliation Act of 1981 and 42 C.F.R. Part 75 standards.
  • Minimum of one year of full-time, creditable experience as a dental hygienist.
  • Recent clinical experience serving diverse adult patient populations (VA dental clinic experience preferred).
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with diverse staff.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft 365 Office programs (Word, Excel, Teams, Outlook).
  • Current unrestricted U.S. driver's license with ability to drive a mobile dental clinic (CDL not required).
  • Willingness to meet VA vehicle operation requirements, complete training, and adhere to VA Directive 0637, VA Vehicle Fleet Management Program.


Role & Responsibilities:

  • Deliver comprehensive dental hygiene care as treatment planned by the supervising dentist.
  • Perform duties consistent with Vermont dental practice laws and regulations.
  • Clinical Care.
  • Conduct patient medical assessments (medical/dental history, social history, vital signs, periodontal assessment, charting).
  • Provide disease and treatment management recommendations.
  • Deliver preventive and therapeutic care including prophylaxis, scaling, root planing, polishing, fluoride application, and radiographs.
  • Educate patients on oral hygiene, diet, tobacco cessation, and periodontal disease prevention.
  • Assist dentists during examinations and procedures as needed.
  • Manage care for stable medically compromised patients.
  • Process Improvement.
  • Identify inefficiencies within the pilot program.
  • Document and communicate process changes to stakeholders.
  • Assist in developing and implementing quality control measures.
  • Reporting & Stakeholder Engagement.
  • Prepare reports summarizing dental care activities and performance metrics.
  • Gather feedback from stakeholders and implement strategies to improve satisfaction.


Work Schedule:

  • Business Hours: Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday (7:00 AM - 5:30 PM).
  • No services required on national holidays or outside defined business hours.
