Job Description




As a Security Officer - Unarmed Patrol in Austin, TX, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Tech/Media/Telecom, and more. Join Allied Universal as an unarmed Patrol Officer at a leading tech and telecom location, where you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, complete routine rounds, and stay highly visible to help reduce security-related incidents. You will document observations, respond to concerns, and deliver strong customer service and communication for employees and visitors. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to site personnel, tenants, and/or visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, location-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Conduct access control duties at entrances and controlled areas by checking identification, verifying authorization, and directing visitors and/or vendors according to site procedures.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including calls for service, alarms, suspicious activity, and/or policy violations.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of interior and exterior areas, including parking areas, loading docks, and perimeter points, while observing for conditions that may require attention.
  • Perform patrols within technology-focused spaces such as equipment rooms and corridors as assigned, watching for irregular conditions such as open doors, unsecured cabinets, and/or unauthorized presence.
  • Monitor security-related systems as assigned, such as cameras, alarms, access control panels, and/or intercoms, and report anomalies per post orders.
  • Complete detailed reports on daily activities, incidents, and observations using required reporting tools and/or logs.
  • Provide assistance with site traffic flow and delivery coordination, including directing drivers to designated routes and staging areas when assigned.
  • Support emergency procedures such as evacuation, shelter guidance, and/or incident notification by following post orders and communicating with site contacts and emergency responders.
  • Communicate professionally with site management, Allied Universal leadership, and/or local responders to relay pertinent information and coordinate next steps.
  • Help to deter unwanted activity through high-visibility presence, consistent patrol patterns, and courteous engagement with individuals on site.
  • Follow all location rules, confidentiality requirements, and technology environment protocols while maintaining professional conduct and appearance.

Minimum Requirements:

  • - Possess supervisory experience.
  • - Be 21+ years of age.
  • - Possess a DD214 with Honorable Discharge OR an Associates Degree and/or 60 College Credits OR a Police Academy Certificate OR a Corrections Academy Certificate.
  • - Possess a Law Enforcement Officer License.
  • - Customer service experience is preferred.
  • - Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • - Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • - As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • - Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • - As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • - Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • - A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
