WORK ASSIGNMENT DETAILS

Waukesha County's Department of Administration - Human Resources Division is seeking a talented administrative support professional to provide exceptional customer service to our internal and external customers. We serve the employees who serve Waukesha County.

This role blends front office reception duties with meaningful administrative support for a collaborative and highly experienced HR team, working alongside two other administrative professionals. You'll play an important part in HR onboarding and training activities, including coordinating background checks, scheduling post-offer physicals and drug screenings (including DOT-regulated screens), completing and tracking I-9 documentation, and supporting the Training Coordinator with training administration, scheduling, communications, marketing, and materials. The successful candidate will provide backup administrative support to our County Executive's Office and assist with administrative duties for the Payroll Division, helping ensure smooth and efficient operations across departments.

In addition to day-to-day responsibilities, you'll have opportunities to contribute to special projects, such as helping build the Learning Module in our newly implemented Workday system and supporting upgrades to the County intranet, making this a great role for someone who enjoys variety, teamwork, and learning new systems.

The ideal candidate is customer-focused, tech-savvy, and highly organized, with strong verbal and written communication skills. You bring excellent attention to detail, effective time management skills, and a positive, can-do attitude. A genuine interest in learning, growing, and contributing to a collaborative team environment will help you thrive in this role.

Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00 am - 4:30 pm. Occasional hours outside the standard hours may be required. Work is performed on-site.

Compensation: The anticipated starting hourly rate range is $22.08 - $25.39 depending on qualifications.

Prior to hiring, the final candidate is required to pass work/education/certification references(s) and a criminal background and driver's license check.

Minimum Training & Experience Requirements
1. High School Diploma or GED.
2. Two years post high school work experience providing administrative support.
3. One year of recognized post high school training in business, administrative professional, or closely related field may substitute for one year of the work experience requirement.
