GENERAL SUMMARY:

Responsible for supporting both the New Business Reform and Non-Reform Sales Unit. Support encompasses all aspects of New Business sales; including but not limited to utilizing the quoting application, CRM application and all internal HAP systems to facilitate a sale.

PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Reform Group

  • Agent Registration/deactivation within the eSales quoting application.

  • Generating quotes within the eSales application.

  • Preparing quotes within the eCAR system for manual quotes.

  • Maintaining the data integrity of the eSales application.

  • Answer and assist Producers calls and emails regarding HAP's products and processes.

  • Assisting Account Executives in preparing new group submissions to underwriting and being the liaison between sales and underwriting for all requested information.

Non Reform Group

  • Analyzing all new large group requests sent to HAP from Producers to determine which HAP/AHL products to quote.

  • Maintaining a dialogue with producers, agencies and Producers in regard to providing the required information to quote.

  • Preparing new quotes for submission to underwriting using the SalesForce application.

  • Creating and maintaining the above RFP information within SalesForce. The following are the main areas within SalesForce needing to be maintained:

    • Create new Employer Accounts and complete all required information.

    • Create new Opportunities for these Employer Accounts and complete all required information.

    • Update and maintain all Contact information as it becomes available.

  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications - External

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • Bachelor's Degree or an additional two (2) years of healthcare experience may be considered in lieu of education requirement.

  • Minimum of one (1) year of healthcare experience.

  • Familiarity with health plan operations and federal and state regulations preferred.

  • Familiarity with a broad range of health plan options (HMO, PPO, CDHP) preferred.

  • Understanding of the sales process for commercial group sales preferred.

  • Understanding of the underwriting process for commercial group sales is a plus.

  • Proficiency operating personal computers and associated software programs including, but not limited to, Word, Excel, and Power Point.

CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURES REQUIRED:

  • Must be a licensed Agent with the state of Michigan in Accident & Health insurance or acquire within 45 days of employment.
