Summary of Job Duties:The Family Enrichment Specialist (FES) plays a vital role in strengthening families and supporting children enrolled in Head Start / Early Head Start programs. This position blends advocacy, case management, and community partnership to address social, developmental, and regulatory needs. Working closely with families experiencing challenging circumstances, the FES develops family intervention plans, connects families with community resources, and promotes positive, sustainable family outcomes. The role also supports recruitment, enrollment, family engagement, compliance, and overall program operations at assigned sites. Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Psychology, Education, Early Childhood Development Education or related field PLUS one (1) year of experience working in an early childhood developmental environment

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement individualized family intervention plans for families with identified needs

  • Conduct required home visits, family assessments, parent surveys, and monitor attendance

  • Manage child abuse reports for assigned centers and ensure appropriate follow-up and documentation

  • Recruit, enroll, and register children and families for Head Start / Early Head Start programs

  • Plan and coordinate parent involvement and family engagement activities at assigned centers

  • Maintain accurate, timely, and confidential records and documentation

  • Collaborate with site staff to ensure a safe, clean, and supportive environment

  • Assist with classroom supervision, including coverage during staff breaks and lunch periods

  • Partner with management and community agencies to assess community needs and develop supportive partnerships

  • Support compliance with program regulations and reporting requirements
