Job Description Summary

The machine operator is responsible for operating production equipment according to all facility safety and quality standards.

Job Description:

  • Responsible for operating one or more types of computer numeric controlled production equipment.
  • Select appropriate settings and adjust as necessary.
  • Controls and adjusts machine settings to complete simple tasks accurately, according to specifications, and timely.
  • Loads & unloads material to and from equipment according to prescribed methods.
  • Inspects parts using precision measuring tools and for visual defects and certification marks.
  • Clean machines & work area throughout and at the end of shift.
  • Follows all safe work practices & safety rules.
  • Follows established quality standards.
  • Works collaboratively with team members, leaders, and others to troubleshoot and resolve problems.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Skills and Education

  • High school diploma or equivalent experience
  • 1-3 years working in a manufacturing environment, specifically operating CNC equipment.
  • Able to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, quality documents, set-up, and work instructions.
  • Able to fill out charts and other simple documents and to successfully connect with team members.
  • Ability to use computer terminals; gauges, calipers, micrometers, and other measuring instruments.
  • To perform this job efficiently, an individual must be able to perform each crucial duty satisfactorily.
