Job Description

Summary: Develops, implements, audits and maintains quality system procedures to ensure compliance to standard requirements (i.e., ISO9001: 2000, AS-9001) with regards to the facility's special processes (welding, heat treat, processing, penetrant, radiography, metallurgy, etc). Additionally, establishes formats and performs analysis of systems data in order to support management, along with evaluating quality performance and compliance.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Under general supervision, must be able to perform a variety of job duties including, but not limited to:

  • Responsible for the periodic maintenance, testing, calibration and certification of all Heat Treat Ovens and Chemical Process Tanks in accordance with Manufacturing Process Document no. 60.
  • Responsible for preparation, polishing, etching of metallographic specimen of various alloys.
  • Responsible for the initial and periodic testing, calibration and certification of all measuring gage and test equipment and laboratory standard including maintaining all calibration records traceable to National Institute and Technology in accordance with ANSI- NCSL-Z540.
  • Responsible for the maintenance of records of all certified inspectors, NDT personnel, Welders and Welding Operators, Heat Treat Operators and administering test under the direction of Quality Director and/or NDT level III and/ or Welding Engineer.
  • Performs uniformity survey of furnaces and make analysis and correction of potential problems.
  • Performs probe checks on furnaces.
  • Trouble shoots heat treat process.
  • Program and re-program heat treat controllers.
  • Coordinates service needed with maintenance department and outside services.
  • Follow all Senior policies and procedure.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Chemical Processing Tanks: (Must have general Knowledge of chemical cleaning such as passivation, pickle, degreasing, alkaline cleaning, and familiarity of chemical cleaning specification).

  • Carry out chemical titration to determine "Chemical concentration level" on each processing tank.
  • Periodic audit of chemical processing for verification and maintenance of Tank's temperature, chemical level and concentration by performing samples collecting from various tanks, performs etch-rate test on pickle tanks.
  • Evaluate and troubleshoot problems associated with chemical processing on parts.
  • Perform analysis and calculation of chemical concentration in accordance with standard methods and give recommendation report to Maintenance Department to keep chemical concentration level with in specification level limit.
  • Record test data on bench sheets and maintains lab records.
  • Coordinates service needs with maintenance department, and outside services.

Calibration:

  • Performs standard calibration, re-adjustment, minor repair of measuring and test equipment in accordance with in- house calibration procedures.
  • Maintains all calibration records and equipment's in accordance with ANSI- NCSL- Z540 calibration procedures as well as those dictated by A2LA accreditation and OEM standards.
  • Support customer audits/ surveys and responsible for documentation control.
  • Responsible for maintaining an orderly and neat laboratory environment including housekeeping duties.
  • Accountable for the upkeep of all calibration records.
  • Recalibration, certification, and repairing gages.
  • Thorough operation knowledge of laboratory equipment used in the process is required.
  • Responsible for maintaining records as well as purchase order and supplier complaints.
  • Preparing and maintaining new calibration procedures.
  • Coordinate outside services for in- house or O.P. calibrations.

Process Examiner/ Test Administrator:

  • Administer company exams for initial and re-certification of chemical processing operators/ Heat Treat Operators/ Inspection Personnel/ Visual Weld Inspectors, Pressure Test Inspectors/ Rockwell Hardness Inspectors/ NDT personnel under supervision of a NDT level III and Welders/ Welding operators under the supervision of welding Engineer.
  • Generate and maintain personnel certification records.
  • Assists and support customer audits/ surveys on personnel certification record.

Metallography Lab:

  • Prepare metallographic samples, select proper sample locations to section mount, polish and etch using standard company's technique and procedures.
  • Perform mechanical testing such as tensile testing, bend testing, flatness testing, flare testing and micro-hardness testing for determination of physical properties of various alloys and certification and qualification of machinery and/or resistance/ fusion welding personnel.
  • Knowledge and use of Allied Micro vision to photograph metallographic bisected specimen of various alloys.
  • Generate Metallurgical test reports for all completed test as applicable.

Qualifications

Education and/or Experience:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent vocational training; Minimum (2) two years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience Types:
    • Must have an overall knowledge of heat treat process, specifications and type of equipment
    • Must have general knowledge of chemical cleaning such as passivation, pickle, degreasing, alkaline cleaning, etc. and familiarity of chemical cleaning specification.
    • I must have IS09001: 2000 and AS- 9001 experience.

Annual Target Salary = $72,800.00
