Position: Credentialing Specialist Experience Level: Intermediate Location: Fairfield, CA - On-site Employment Type: Full-time 40 hours/week Description We are seeking a detailoriented Credentialing Specialist to perform credentialing and recredentialing activities in accordance with established policies, procedures, and regulatory standards. The ideal candidate will excel in accuracy, documentation, and communication while supporting providers through the credentialing process and ensuring timely completion of all requirements. Responsibilities * Perform credentialing and recredentialing activities in alignment with organizational policies and procedures. * Send application forms and required documentation to providers and track progress to ensure timely completion and return. * Gather information, research discrepancies, and thoroughly review documents for consistency and accuracy. * Monitor licensing boards, federal databases, and state reporting sites for updates on healthcare practitioners. * Review comprehensive documents and prepare clear, concise written summaries. * Prepare, maintain, and audit credentialing files to ensure compliance with quality, regulatory, and documentation standards. * Educate providers on completing forms and submitting required documentation. * Prepare various reports and templates using Microsoft Word and Excel. * Enter and maintain data in multiple databases. * Respond to phone inquiries from providers, staff, and external partners. Top Skills * Administrative support * Credentialing * Data entry Additional Skills & Qualifications * 1-2 years of credentialing experience or 2-3 years of experience verifying insurance or working with benefits. * Knowledge of medical terminology. * Strong written and verbal communication skills. * Advanced computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office applications. * Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks. * Strong interpersonal and customer service skills. * High attention to detail with the ability to identify critical information. * Consistent ability to meet quality and productivity standards. * Good judgment, professionalism, and the ability to handle sensitive information with tact. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Fairfield, CA. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $26.00 - $26.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
