Role Description The Multi-Media Sales Representative is responsible for building and growing a client base through consistent outbound sales efforts. There is no existing book of business to inherit, so success in this role starts with prospecting, in-person outreach, cold calls, and follow-up to secure new accounts. Once business is earned, this role also includes maintaining relationships, providing ongoing service, and identifying opportunities to grow those accounts over time. You will sell across multiple platforms, including digital advertising, print products, special sections, and event sponsorships, managing the full sales process from initial contact through renewal and upsell.
The ideal candidate is comfortable initiating conversations with local businesses, enjoys being out in the community, and understands that steady activity drives results. This role is best suited for someone who is self-motivated, organized, and accountable for both new revenue and long-term client success.
Key Responsibilities Meet and exceed monthly sales goals by securing new revenue streams from prospective clients. Develop and maintain strong client relationships, identifying and engaging new advertisers. Define and pursue a list of potential clients, consulting with them on business issues and marketing objectives. Develop innovative proposals and deliver strategic sales presentations to clients. Mentor new Sales Representatives as they join the team. Collect payments for advertising and ensure accurate placement and execution of ads. Resolve sales or delivery issues promptly to maintain client satisfaction. Monitor competitive media, market trends, and client industries to identify opportunities to increase market share. Create and maintain reports on territory performance and strategic acquisition initiatives. Attend and actively participate in training and planning sessions to enhance skills and strategies. Uphold organizational values by treating others with respect, maintaining integrity, and inspiring trust.
Qualifications Proven experience in sales, preferably in media, marketing, or advertising. Strong consultative selling skills and the ability to build lasting client relationships. Exceptional communication and presentation skills, both verbal and written. Proficiency in creating detailed proposals and managing contract processes. Highly motivated, goal-oriented, and able to work independently with good judgment. Familiarity with digital marketing, print media, and event sponsorships is a plus. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment while managing multiple priorities. Self-motivated with high dependability, attendance, and ability to work independently.
Other Skills & Requirements This position is based in Anchorage and requires in-person work during the week. Candidates must live locally and be able to commute regularly. Must possess a valid driver’s license and have a clean driving record. Able to operate a motor vehicle to travel to and from client and event locations. Maintain a high level of dependability and attendance.
