Job Description




As a Security Officer - Armed Patrol Officer in Miami, FL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. Join Allied Universal as an armed patrol officer supporting a government location. You will conduct routine patrols, stay visible to help reduce security-related incidents, respond to calls for service, and document observations with clear communication and customer service. You will work as part of a team in a caring culture that puts people first, bringing agility, reliability, and innovation to every shift while acting with integrity.

What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to visitors, employees, and contractors at a government location by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Conduct regular and random armed patrols of buildings, grounds, parking areas, and perimeter points to help to deter unwanted activity and identify potential hazards or policy violations.
  • Monitor access control points and screen authorized entry, verify identification and/or credentials, and assist with directing foot and vehicle traffic in accordance with site-specific requirements.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including de-escalation, requesting medical support and/or law enforcement when needed, and following post orders for notifications.
  • Complete detailed shift activity reports and incident documentation, maintain control of assigned equipment in accordance with Allied Universal policies and site post orders, and communicate key information during shift briefings and handoffs.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Client requires proof of a high school diploma or GED.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Possess a DD214 with honorable discharge or an associates degree or 60 college credits or a police academy certificate or a corrections academy certificate.
  • Handcuffs, pepper spray, and/or baton experience is preferred.
  • Baton certification is preferred.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
