Position Summary

Odyssey Systems is currently hiring a Recruiter to join our Space and Missile Defense team in Colorado Springs, CO. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in recruiting for defense contracts and a deep understanding of the unique requirements and challenges of the Department of Defense (DoD) contracting environment. This role involves sourcing, screening, and hiring qualified candidates for various DoD contracts, ensuring compliance with all federal regulations and company policies. This is a full life cycle recruiting position responsible for maintaining relationships with decision makers across the Space and Missile Defense portfolio, in addition to providing a "first-in-class" candidate experience.

Our Space and Missile Defense business unit has a rich history of supporting a wide range of space and Integrated Air and Missile Defense (IAMD) systems and operations, including, Space Situational Awareness (SSA) / Space Domain Awareness (SDA), Space Warning, Space Command and Control (C2), active and passive missile defense (kinetic and non-kinetic), offensive operations, ground stations, data links, mission or user terminals, cyber warfare, space lift, station keeping, and mission packages. We also apply our expertise to supporting infrastructure, including battle management and Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Cyber, Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (C5ISR). We are ideally looking for someone with experience in our S&MD community that has a knack for building relationships and wants to be on the forefront of supporting the war-fighter and the Space domain.

This is a hybrid position, with a three-day a week requirement in the office in Colorado Springs, CO.



Responsibilities

Duties include, but not limited to:

    Talent Acquisition:
    • Develop and implement effective recruiting strategies to attract and hire top talent for DoD contracts
    • Source candidates through various channels, including job boards, social media, networking events, and employee referrals.
    • Conduct thorough screenings and interviews to assess candidates' qualifications, experience, and cultural fit.
  • Client and Stakeholder Management:
    • Collaborate with hiring managers to understand staffing needs and job specifications.
    • Maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external clients to ensure alignment on recruitment goals and expectations.
    • Provide Regular updates to hiring managers and stakeholders on recruitment progress and challenges.
  • Compliance and Documentation:
    • Ensure all recruitment activities comply with Federal regulations and company policies.
    • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all candidate interactions and hiring processes in the applicant tracking system (ATS).
  • Candidate Experience:
    • Provide a positive candidate experience by communicating clearly and promptly throughout recruitment.
    • Coordinate and facilitate interviews, offer negotiations, and on-boarding processes.
    • Follow up with new hires to ensure a smooth transition and address initial concerns.
  • Market Research and Networking:
    • Stay informed about industry trends, competitor activities, and labor market conditions.
    • Attend industry events, job fairs, and networking opportunities to build a pipeline of potential candidates.
    • Leverage professional networks and associations to identify and attract high-quality candidates.


Qualifications

Minimum Required Qualifications

Citizenship: Must be a US citizen

Education: Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Communications, or a related field.

Years of Experience: At least four years of recruitment experience with at least one of those supporting DoD contracting.

Certifications: CIR or similar certifications, is preferred

Technical Skills

  • Proven experience in recruiting for DoD contracts or within the defense industry.
  • Strong understanding of DoD regulations, security clearance processes, and compliance requirements.
  • Proficiency with applicant tracking systems (ATS) and other recruitment software. iCIMS experience is a plus.
  • Previous experience working in a federal contracting environment.
  • Familiarity with OFCCP and EEO guidelines.

Interpersonal Skills

  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion

Additional Information

Location: Colorado Springs, CO

Travel: Up to 15% travel to job fairs, networking events, and client sites.

Remote, Onsite, or Hybrid: Hybrid/3 days in office (Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday)

Final compensation for this position will be determined by various factors such as the Federal Government contract labor categories and contract wage rates, relevant work experience, specific skills and competencies, geographic location, education, and certifications.
