Job Summary

The Manufacturing Assembler in the Buy & Mark area is responsible for accurately labeling commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) cables and assets in accordance with established label charts and work instructions. This role ensures all components are correctly identified, traceable, and compliant with quality standards to support on-time delivery and downstream manufacturing operations.


Key Responsibilities


  • Read and interpret label charts, work instructions, part lists, and reference documentation



  • Verify correct chart revisions and versions prior to labeling activities



  • Select, position, and apply appropriate labels to cables, connectors, and related assets



  • Ensure labels are legible, properly oriented, and securely affixed



  • Perform visual inspections to confirm correct labeling and placement



  • Conduct spot checks against documentation and report discrepancies



  • Record labeling activities in production tracking systems (e.g., MES, SAP)



  • Maintain a clean, organized workspace in accordance with 6S standards



  • Follow all safety protocols to ensure a safe work environment



  • Collaborate with production team members to meet quality and schedule goals




Required Qualifications


  • High school diploma or equivalent



  • U.S. citizenship required



  • Basic mechanical aptitude and ability to operate simple machinery



  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow written instructions



  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, electrical schematics, and wiring diagrams



  • Understanding of dimensions, tolerances, and specifications



  • Basic computer skills, including use of label printing software



  • Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment and meet deadlines



  • Physical ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 pounds



  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment




Preferred Qualifications


  • Previous experience in a manufacturing or production environment



  • Familiarity with wire cutting and label printing equipment



  • Basic knowledge of electrical assemblies and wiring configurations



  • IPC or related manufacturing certification




Work Environment


  • Manufacturing/production environment with moderate noise levels



  • Climate-controlled facility



  • Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) as required; gloves and safety glasses provided
