Job Summary

The Technician I supports engineering teams by performing product testing, commissioning, troubleshooting, and technical analysis to advance product development efforts. This role is responsible for conducting tests, calibrating equipment, assembling products, and documenting results while ensuring all work complies with applicable quality and environmental standards. The Technician I also assists with failure analysis, cost reduction initiatives, and process improvements while maintaining a safe, clean, and collaborative work environment.

Job Responsibilities

  • Perform testing, commissioning, troubleshooting, and evaluation activities in support of product development.
  • Conduct required tests and calibrations using appropriate test equipment.
  • Partner with engineering to identify and resolve product issues through technical solutions.
  • Assemble products, components, and test fixtures as required for development activities.
  • Support engineering across all phases of development, including testing, design iterations, failure analysis, and product improvements.
  • Maintain test equipment to ensure accuracy, proper function, and compliance with applicable standards.
  • Document test results, issues, and observations clearly and accurately.
  • Participate in team projects, research new processes or concepts, and contribute to continuous improvement efforts.
  • Follow all applicable quality, environmental, and safety procedures.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized workspace and promote mutual respect among team members.


Job Requirements

  • Experience in automotive, electrical, mechanical, testing, machining, or engineering environments.
  • Knowledge of testing, troubleshooting, servicing, and evaluating electrical or mechanical components.
  • Ability to perform quality measurements and operate test instruments.
  • Understanding of test equipment setup, calibration, and operation.
  • Ability to follow technical instructions and work alongside engineering teams.
  • Commitment to safety and adherence to safety protocols, including use of PPE such as safety shoes, safety glasses, hearing protection, and electrical safety gear (as required).
  • Ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting/carrying, pushing/pulling, standing, squatting, bending, kneeling, climbing, and driving for extended periods.
  • Ability to work under deadlines, support fluctuating workloads, and perform overtime when required.


Education

  • High school diploma or GED required.


Work Experience

  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience required; co-op or internship experience is acceptable.
