Network Architect - Telecom Team

Location: Bethesda, MD

Peraton is seeking a Network Architect to join our Telecom team in Bethesda, MD. In this role, you'll be responsible for designing, implementing, and optimizing secure, scalable, and high-performance data networks across LAN, WAN, and Cloud environments that support critical FAA operations.

You will:

    Architect complex network solutions that meet organizational, functional, and capacity requirements

  • Analyze network traffic and performance to ensure reliability, resilience, and scalability

  • Develop detailed network blueprints and technical designs

  • Evaluate and select vendor technologies that align with mission and security needs

  • Oversee implementation and integration to ensure operational excellence

Qualifications

Position Requirements:
  • Clearance: Must have the ability to obtain a Public Trust clearance.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, or a related field; a Master's degree or MBA is a plus.

  • Experience: 8+ years of progressive, hands-on experience in network engineering, systems administration, or telecom architecture.

  • Advanced Networking: Strong expertise in fiber-optic technologies (DWDM, PON), satellite communications, and carrier-grade protocols such as MPLS and BGP.

  • Next-Generation Wireless: In-depth knowledge of 5G NR architecture, including Open RAN (O-RAN), network slicing, and edge computing.

  • Cloud & Virtualization: Proven experience with cloud-native networking, including SDN and NFV, across AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.

  • Telecom Systems: Working knowledge of OSS/BSS platforms supporting service delivery, operations, and billing integration.

Target Salary Range

$112,000 - $179,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual's experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
