The Loudoun County Sheriff's Office is seeking qualified applicants for a full-time Human Resources Generalist located within the Administrative and Technical Services Division at the Loudoun County Sheriff's Office Headquarters Building. This position is onsite only, not eligible for tele-work, working 37.50 hours per week Monday through Friday.

Job Summary

Under general supervision, this position provides program support for Human Resources (HR). This position provides first level customer service and performs a wide variety of administrative tasks including processing paperwork in compliance with HR policies and Sheriff's Office General Orders.
Major duties include but are not limited to: * Serves as Human Resources liaison for Sheriff's Office with the Loudoun County Department of Human Resources. * Provides customer service to employees explaining HR policies, programs, and paperwork. * Prepares and processes employee actions for Oracle data entry; contacts County HR with any questions regarding Oracle transactions. * Coordinates use of Applicant Tracking system, NEOGOV, to prepare job requisitions, salary worksheets, offer letters and other correspondence to new employees; registers new employees for New Employee Orientation and OnBoarding within NEOGOV; works closely with the Sheriff's Office Employment Services Section on the recruitment and new hire process and timelines. * Assists with Sheriff's Office New Hire Orientation. * Manages department data and reports. Prepares and maintains reports and surveys to include but not limited to turnover reports, vacancy reports, FTE tracking, organizational charts, disciplinary tracking, FMLA and Leave reports, and various surveys as requested. * Assist supervisors with the coordination of the probationary and annual performance assessments in NEOGOV. * May assist with coordination of Workers' Compensation claims with injured workers and supervisors to ensure accurate and complete reports are filed within required deadlines. * Research and resolve issues related to benefits and leave inquiries. * Must have excellent customer service skills and the ability to adapt to difficult situations, as well as the ability to manage multiple priorities while working in a team environment and/or independently as needed. * Demonstrates compliance with County and Sheriff's Office service/program policies, procedures, and regulations as well as federal and state licensing regulations; completes required training and attestations of assigned departmental policies, procedures, and processes by required dates. *Maintains confidentiality in the performance of all job duties. *Completes Special Projects as assigned, independently, or as a member of a team. *May perform other essential job functions specific to the assignment.

Minimum Qualifications

Requires a Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field; one (1) year of related work experience in the assigned area; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Prefer Human Resources professional certification appropriate to the area of assignment. Knowledge of Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS) as well as knowledge of MS Office applications and familiarity with PowerDMS. Knowledge of applicable federal, state, and local employment and benefit laws and regulations governing the work of an HR division.

Selection process includes review of the Applicant Screening Questionnaire and County employment application; in-person interview(s); and an intensive background investigation to include fingerprinting, criminal background check, credit check, driving record, and polygraph examination.
May be required to work outside of normal business hours on occasion. Work requires shifting priorities and multi-tasking. Work is performed in a dynamic environment that requires sensitivity to change and responsiveness to changing goals, priorities, and needs.
