This is a remote position; incumbent must live and work in Minnesota or Wisconsin.
Responsibilities
Under general supervision by the pharmacy manager, responsible for obtaining oral oncology prior authorizations, patient assistance. Supports and adheres to the US Oncology Compliance Program, to include the Code of Ethics and Business Standards. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILIITES:
- Obtain prior authorizations for oral oncology medications and other medications when asked.
- Seek and find answers regarding prior authorizations.
- Communicate with insurance companies for prior authorizations as well as other questions about covered medications or processing issues.
- Communicate with patients about copays for oral oncology medications.
- Research financial assistance possibilities for oral oncology medications as well as other medications when asked.
- Determine if patients will qualify for financial help with their oral oncology medications as well as others when asked.
- Apply for financial assistance on behalf of patients through foundation grants or manufacturer assistance.
- Follow-up with foundation and manufacturer programs to ensure all parts of the applications were received.
- Contact other specialty pharmacies on behalf of patients/providers to assist with issues.
- Answer calls from patients with questions on prior authorizations and/or patient assistance, medication deliveries and refills.
- Answer questions from nursing staff regarding prior authorizations and/or patient assistance, medication deliveries and refills.
- Triage phone calls to clinic staff.
SALARY LEVEL: $24.50 - 31.00 / hour
Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- 2+ years of healthcare experience.
- Pharmacy background preferred but not required.
