Job Title – Water Treatment Plant Operator

Job Description:

The position requires the applicant to have the knowledge of the various tasks / functions to operate, control and maintain a water treatment plant and distribution system.

Minimum Requirements:

• Applicant shall have at a minimum a Class B water license.
• Applicant must have valid Pennsylvania Driver’s License; must have reliable transportation to / from work.
• Applicant must have high school diploma or GED; advanced degree in a related field would be a plus.
• Applicant must pass a pre-employment physical and drug screening; a criminal background check will be done.
• Applicant must be able to work shifts without restrictions – 8am to 4pm, 4pm to midnight, midnight to 8am; must be able to work weekends and holidays.
• Applicant shall have mechanical aptitude and basic knowledge of math, science and chemistry.
• Applicant shall have good computer skills, oral and written communications, and interpersonal skills; must maintain a professional demeanor at all times.
• Applicant must complete all assignments in a timely fashion and comply with all rules, policies and regulations.
• Applicant must perform all duties in accordance with Authority policies and procedures and with regard for personal safety and that of other employees and the public.
• Applicant must be able to lift and / or move 100 pounds with assistance.
• Applicant must be able to move throughout the plant without limitations, including climbing stairs and ladders; walking, crawling, kneeling around piping and within confined spaces.
• Applicant must be able to perform all physical activities with or without reasonable accommodation.
• 6-month probationary period for new hires
