Research Supervisor Center for Advanced Technology Biochemistry and Biophysics Full Time 87784BR Job Summary As a supervisor within the Center for Advanced Technology (CAT), the employee will be responsible for overseeing multiple key areas of operation. Primary responsibilities include managing sequencing workflows, such as Illumina NovaSeq and PacBio Revio processes. Additionally, the employee will lead projects aimed at developing new sample preparation methods, including PacBio Kinnex-based assays and whole genome sequencing initiatives. The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy. Your placement within the salary range is dependent on a number of factors including your work experience and internal equity within this position classification at UCSF. For positions that are represented by a labor union, placement within the salary range will be guided by the rules in the collective bargaining agreement. The salary range for this position is $33.98 - $54.67 (Hourly Rate). The department offers graduate studies in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, Cell Biology, Developmental Biology, Systems Biology, and Genetics degree programs, in addition to providing courses for medical, dental, and pharmacy students. Each program includes interdepartmental faculty representing: the Cancer Center, Medicine, Pharmacy, Physiology, Pediatrics, Microbiology, Pathology, Anatomy, Psychiatry and Neurology departments, as well as our own. In addition to offering course work, the department's other main goal is to provide an environment where outstanding research in diverse areas of interest is conducted. A close, collaborative spirit among faculty facilitates a research atmosphere that is both productive and exciting. Moreover, many colleagues from other departments have joint appointments with Biochemistry, which forms an added active pool of investigators with whom we closely collaborate. Required Qualifications
