Prototype Technician

Job Description:

As an Electrical R&D Technician, you will play a vital role in supporting new product development within the HPE Aruba Networking lab.

* Primarily responsible for designing, constructing, reworking, and testing prototype equipment for electrical systems and components, consistent with engineering and other applicable specifications.

* Participate with engineering and other applicable specifications.

* The ability to rework and repair SMT PCA's using Metcal and Air pencil tools.

* Setup, run and monitor environment and regulatory system tests.

* Help write basic test plans.

* Develop and improve technician processes and techniques.

* Work with both co-located and remote teams.

Experience Desired:

At least four years of relevant technician experience

Skills Desired:

* Read and interpret schematics, printouts and specifications for hardware and systems.

* Strong electrical and mechanical reworking skills.

* Ability to set up network equipment highly desirable.

* Knowledge of environmental and regulatory testing is highly desirable.

* Working knowledge of hardware test equipment, including voltmeter, oscilloscope, pattern generator, logic analyzer.

* Setup test equipment and measure electrical signals.

* Strong sense of self-initiative and ability to work independently with minimal guidance from supervisors.

* Solve technical problems with high degree of independent judgment and technical knowledge.

* Strong teamwork and communication skills.

* Working knowledge of MS Windows based PCs.
