Research Lab Quality Assurance Coordinator

Oversee quality assurance processes to ensure accuracy and integrity of outgoing WRE Physical Testing Lab data.

Job Responsibilities



  • Create and maintain quality assurance processes.

    • Create and revise documents in ETQ pertaining to quality assurance. Ensure quality insurance instructions are clear and current.
    • Develop and maintain systems and processes to adapt quality assurance review process to evolving test methods.
    • Train Coordinators on quality assurance processes. Ensure Coordinators are up to date on current quality assurance processes. Delegate quality assurance reviews as needed.
    • Work with Lab Technical Coordinators to ensure method documentation is accurate, and testing is performed according to methods.
    • Address operational problems and identify/communicate work process improvements based on observations in data review.


  • Perform quality assurance reviews on data generated in WRE Physical Testing Labs.

    • Manage quality assurance request log to ensure prioritization and thorough documentation of all test requests.
    • Check that data are all within lab specifications. Reconcile data in LV versus written raw data.
    • Take corrective action when issues are identified. Document errors and retesting incidents. Monitor trends in errors and retesting incidents for improvement opportunities.
    • Notify requestors, Research Lab Project Coordinator, and Sample Processing Team of request completion.
    • Address questions from requestors related to data results.
    • Maintain hard copy documentation according to current practices.


  • Contribute to data collection optimization in LabVantage.

    • Submit change requests to add, remove, and change test methods, variants, parameters and time estimates when necessary.




Skills and Qualifications

Project management, foster teamwork, Quality Assurance management, supervision, delegation, time management, proactive, attention to detail, thoroughness, emphasizing excellence in self and others, technical writing skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Computer proficiency.

Intermediate level position that requires an Associate's degree/Bachelor's degree or 0-2 years of equivalent experience and direct experience in relevant lab environment.
