As a Network Specialist - I, you play a key role in providing analysis, defining reporting, developing training and training plans, and supporting engineering and construction GIS utilization to enhance production efficiencies and other key performance indicators for Network Services. This position will work closely with the Network Service Incumbent Local Exchange Carrier (ILEC), Cable and Out of Territory Engineering and Construction teams, NS GIS program owner as well as IT GIS associates to ensure the GIS systems positively contribute to the overall team success. This position will develop and execute data scripts for engineering and construction related metrics for data integrity alignment and to help with monthly management analysis and insights into staffing, process improvement, capital management and overall costs for engineering and construction activities. In this role as a Network Specialist - I, you are expected to assist the engineering and construction teams to define enhancement requirements and lead the identification of opportunities to evolve the team's use of the GIS system. You will focus on collaboration with engineering and construction peers to represent their needs in system enhancements, training and support initiatives. You will also define and lead GIS training activities for internal and external partners as well as participate and coordinate end user testing and prioritize operational system concerns. You will be a key contributor to support NS users and construction contractors as a first line of escalation for engineering or construction GIS system related process questions. The position requires a strong process improvement and documentation skill set. The ability to work with and build relationships with all levels of employees in the company.is essential to success. Knowledge of the TDS GIS system is desired. This position has the ability to work remotely in any of the 40+ States in which TDS Telecom operates. This position can be hired at a Network Specialist (2025-28707) or Network Specialist I (2025-28708) level depending on the skills and qualifications of the candidate. Assist in evolving the Outside Plant (OSP) engineering and construction GIS processes to include new tools and methods, as well as the corresponding processes and standards surrounding these record systems as they impact other business units and teams.
