The Genetics Division is looking for a Research Administrator who will be excited to contribute to our team's mission, help us manage the growing demands of our work, and be an integral part of our innovative and supportive culture.

***Hybrid position requiring 2 days a week onsite***

Key Responsibilities
  • Assists in pre-award functions such as preparing grant applications to ensure conformity with relevant sponsor guidelines, regulations, and hospital policy. Coordinates collection of grant application materials and receipt of institutional reviews and approvals to ensure timely submission. May assist in budget preparation as needed.
  • Prepares financial transactions, such as employee travel and other reimbursements, and approves purchase requisitions in accordance with sponsor and hospital policy.
  • Works with appropriate institutional central offices (Research Administration, Research Finance, Accounts Payable, etc.) to troubleshoot and resolve matters.
  • Assists in the review of financial reports to monitor grant expenses to ensure compliance with sponsored award terms/conditions. Assists in preparing effort and financial reports for Principal Investigators to assist them in monitoring spending rates and planning for future spending needs.
  • Participates in timely grant/award renewal process and the orderly closeout of sponsored activities.
  • Attends institutional training to keep skills current and knowledge up-to-date on sponsor regulations, Hospital policies, and emerging technologies.

Minimum Qualifications
Education:
  • High School Diploma/GED required, Bachelor's Degree preferred.
Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree and 1 year of research administrative or financial experience
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in order to effectively resolve issues and mediate fair solutions.
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office and database applications, specifically Excel.

The posted pay range is Boston Children's reasonable and good-faith expectation for this pay at the time of posting.

Any base pay offer provided depends on skills, experience, education, certifications, and a variety of other job-related factors.
