Summary

Job Description:

• The Speech Language Pathologist shall plan and implement specific treatment programs for individual
  patients and patient groups according to the principles and practices of speech therapy.
• Collaborate withinterdisciplinary teams including evaluate and treat patients; maintain communication with doctors andother health personnel; and supervise volunteers and students.
• The Speech Language Pathologist willassist with education for the speech therapy staff, hospital staff, and community at large as needed.
• TheSpeech Language Pathologist will follow hospital and departmental policies and procedures.
• The SpeechLanguage Pathologist follows hospital and departmental policies and procedures.

Requirements:

• Requires a Master's or Doctoraldegree in the area of speech language pathology orcommunication disorders from aprogram accredited by theCouncil for AcademicAccreditation of the AmericanSpeech Language HearingAssociation, or higher.
• Kentucky State License or interim license as a Speech Language Pathologist
• Certificate of Clinical Competence from the American Speech Hearing Association or in the case of an interim license, is intheir Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) required.
• BLS from American Heart Association (AHA) - required within 90 days of hire

Preferred Requirements:

• Experience in acute care, SNF, and/or outpatient experience preferred.
