| Position Description: |
The Department of Pathology at The University of Iowa Roy J. and Lucille A. Carver College of Medicine is seeking scientist candidates for tenure-track faculty positions in immunology or cancer research. Candidates must have a doctoral degree (Ph.D., M.D. or equivalent) and a research program in either the field of immunology, cancer, or a combination of both (e.g. cancer immunotherapy). Candidates for Assistant Professor should have post-doctoral experience with a strong record of productivity. Candidates for Associate or Full Professor should have a record of ongoing extramural funding support and productivity. Candidates should also have excellent communication skills. Candidates with R01 level funding (or equivalent) are preferred. Successful candidates will be expected to run a strong and funded research program in some aspect of immunology or cancer biology, in addition to participating in clinical service and education (as appropriate). For appropriately board-certified M.D. or Ph.D. candidates, any area of clinical expertise in Pathology will be considered. Successful candidates will be required to self-disclose any misconduct history or pending research misconduct investigation including but not limited to sexual misconduct in prior employment and provide a related release and will be subject to a criminal background and credential check. |

- Candidates for Assistant Professor should have post-doctoral experience with a strong record of productivity. Candidates for Associate or Full Professor should have a record of ongoing extramural funding support and productivity.
- Research program in either the field of immunology, cancer or a combination of both (e.g. cancer immunotherapy).
- Candidates for Associate or Full Professor should have Federal or Foundation funding as principal investigator. Candidates for Assistant Professor should have a demonstrated research program that will support current or future Federal or Foundation funding as principal investigator.
- Strong Publication Record
- Excellent Communication skills
