Description

The Department of Classics at Dartmouth College seeks to appoint a non-tenure track Lecturer for the academic year 2026-2027. Applicants for this position should be specialists in ancient Greek and/or Latin languages and literature who are prepared to teach Latin and Greek at all levels to a diverse student body. The teaching assignment will be five or six courses over three consecutive ten-week terms.


This position is non-remote, in-residence at Dartmouth College in Hanover, NH, with a start date of September 1, 2026. It comes with a competitive salary and benefits.

Qualifications

PhD in Classics or a closely related field by the start date. Scholars who are currently ABD are welcome to apply, provided that they will have their PhD in hand by the start date. Dartmouth can provide J-1 visa sponsorship for eligible candidates with full-time appointments.
