Job Description - Financial Controller

strong Financial Controller to lead our accounting and financial reporting function within our renewable energy business. This role is ideal for a CPA with deep expertise in US GAAP and IFRS, extensive experience in multinational companies, and familiarity with the financial and operational structure of renewable energy projects and infrastructure assets.
The Financial Controller will ensure accurate reporting, compliant accounting practices, and strong financial governance across all solar development, construction, and operational entities.

Key Responsibilities

Accounting & Reporting Leadership



  • Oversee all accounting operations, including general ledger, consolidations, revenue recognition, cost accounting, and fixed assets related to solar energy assets.
  • Ensure full compliance with US GAAP and IFRS across all reporting entities.
  • Manage month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes for multiple subsidiaries, SPVs, and project companies.
  • Prepare and review consolidated financial statements and technical accounting analyses.


Solar Energy-Specific Responsibilities



  • Manage accounting for renewable project finance structures, including non-recourse debt, tax equity, PPAs, EPC contracts, and O&M agreements.
  • Ensure proper accounting treatment for construction-in-progress (CIP), interconnection upgrades, development rights, and asset commissioning.
  • Support valuation, impairment analysis, and lifecycle reporting of solar assets.


Audit, Controls & Compliance



  • Serve as the primary lead for external audits and tax advisors.
  • Maintain strong internal controls across multinational operations.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory and statutory reporting requirements in relevant jurisdictions.


Global Operations & Systems



  • Coordinate accounting across global business units and international subsidiaries.
  • Support financial integration of new acquisitions, project entities, and joint ventures.


Qualifications

Required



  • CPA certification - required.
  • Strong knowledge of US GAAP and IFRS - required.
  • 5+ years of progressive accounting experience.
  • Experience working in multinational organizations.
  • Prior experience with multi-entity consolidations and global accounting operations.
  • Strong technical accounting background and audit experience.


Preferred



  • Experience in renewable energy, or infrastructure/project finance.
  • Familiarity with SPVs, tax equity structures, PPAs, and assetlevel reporting.
