Job Description

General Summary:

The Senior Director, Market Enablement will lead workstreams and pilots to drive the acceleration of our work to transform the status quo in the market to ensure appropriate patients have broad access & rapid physical availability to our products within the kidney portfolio. This individual will have an exceptional track record driving high degrees of cross functional collaboration and external stakeholder success to deliver for patients, demonstrated success in leading and developing high performing teams, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, innovation and compliance-focused environment. This role reports to the Vice President of the US Kidney Business Unit.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop framework for transformation of kidney product access and availability with strong criteria for decision making
  • Proactively identify and work with key provider customers to advance top-down access and utilization objectives for the kidney portfolio
  • Establish relationships between Vertex and key innovative kidney-specific accounts, potentially including corporate groups, vertically integrated clinics, dialysis centers, etc.)
  • Explore potential innovative distribution & care models (e.g., cost plus, telehealth/direct delivery)
  • Evaluate, build, and deploy health informatics services to support hospital operations with formulary changes, order sets & appropriate kidney patient identification
  • Role model and instill a culture of compliance focused on ethics and integrity in all we do
  • Partner with cross-functional local market field teams (RFL, USPA, USMA) to appropriately accelerate product access and utilization in target markets
  • Collaborate closely with Market Transformation team to share learnings that could be applicable for Vertex at an enterprise level while shaping enterprise initiatives that can be mutually beneficial for the kidney business

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Experience defining strategy for market transformation and innovation, with strong experience with IDNs & hospitals preferred
  • Strong innovation skills, an entrepreneurial spirit and courage to challenge the status quo to develop innovative and focused approaches to enable launch through data and technology
  • Highly collaborative and able to influence effectively diverse stakeholders towards goals
  • Experience leading teams, coaching individuals and creating excellent team culture
  • Demonstrated understanding of legal, regulatory, and compliance requirements
  • Analytical mindset, with ability to make strategic recommendations
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to drive results through teams and external stakeholders
  • Proficiency in building relationships with existing and potential new accounts
  • Comprehensive understanding of pharmaceutical markets, trends, regulatory and legal regulatory environment
  • Hybrid role based in Boston; Travel Requirements: Ability to travel 30%+

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, business, or scientific degree
  • Typically requires 12 years of experience in marketing, sales/account management, consulting, or an equivalent combination of experience and education; prior experience working within the nephrology space is required
  • 5+ years of management experience, or the equivalent combination of education and experience

Pay Range:

$232,000 - $348,000

Disclosure Statement:

The range provided is based on what we believe is a reasonable estimate for the base salary pay range for this job at the time of posting. This role is eligible for an annual bonus and annual equity awards. Some roles may also be eligible for overtime pay, in accordance with federal and state requirements. Actual base salary pay will be based on a number of factors, including skills, competencies, experience, and other job-related factors permitted by law.
