LSC-Houston North Greenspoint is a state-of-the-art, full-service location designed to serve the greater Greenspoint area. Its proximity to local businesses and public transportation has created a location ideal for working and non-traditional students. The facility offers a selection of day, evening and weekend credit courses, including university-transfer courses, certificates, computer/office skills, and developmental studies.

Job Description

PURPOSE AND SCOPE:

The PT Specialist IV will assist Lone Star College students identified as "at-risk" through the Early Alert Program. The position will also provide crucial support to the Success Connections Program through contact and communication with prospective and enrolled students.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  1. Assist with daily operations and act as general point-of-contact for the Retention department
  2. Enter, track and maintain a variety of data, documents, spreadsheets and databases
  3. Work one-on-one with "at-risk" students identified through the Early Alert Program to assess needs and refer them to available resources/services; continuously reach out and monitor student needs throughout the semester
  4. Market and provide Success Connections and Early Alert program training to faculty and staff
  5. Actively research and maintain up-to-day knowledge of all available resources and services
  6. Assist with research, analysis and evaluation of program, creation of reports and presentation of findings and suggestions for program improvements
  7. Responsible for other reasonable, related duties as assigned

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

PHYSICAL ABILITIES:

The work is sedentary. Typically, the employee sits comfortably to do the work. However, there may be some walking; standing; bending; carrying of light items, such as papers, books, or small parts; or driving an automobile. No special physical demands are required to perform the work.

WORK SCHEDULE AND CONDITIONS:

  • Equipment used includes, PC workstation running on a LAN in a Microsoft Windows environment, calculator, phone and other general office equipment
  • Interface with internal and external contacts as needed to carry out the functions of the position
  • Work is performed in a climate-controlled office with minimal exposure to safety hazards

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or GED and at least 1 year of related work experience
Salary

Hourly Pay Rate is $16.33
