MBPS Logistician II

Position Summary:

Life Cycle Engineering is seeking an MBPS Logistician II to join our team in support of Naval Surface Warfare Center Philadelphia Division (NSWCPD) Code 311 & 317, Logistic Product Support Management and Logistics Product Readiness Branches.

The MBPS Logistician II will have experience with the Model Based Product Support ( MBPS), CTDM responsibilities and a ccess to view technical data related to ship configurations, including technical publications, drawings/models and logistics data (AEL/APL) and requires capability to submit configuration work file changes based on equipment validations, maintenance planning and execution, data processing from end users and alteration installers. They will also have knowledge of Navy logistic products and an understanding of U.S. Navy Ship Hull Mechanical and Electrical (HM&E) equipment.

They will work with existing team members to assist in the development of monthly briefs and data calls pertaining to, but not limited to, HM&E Technical Manuals (TMs), Planned Maintenance (PMS), Provisioning (Allowance Parts Lists (APLs), Allowance Equipage Lists (AELs), National Stock Numbers (NSNs), drawings, etc.), Engineering Operational Sequencing System ( EOSS) as well as Contract Deliverable Requirement List (CDRL) deliverables. Primary resp onsibilities will be developing configuration change reports, tracking actions items, and assisting with modification of logistic products.

This position can be remote, the candidate will need to come in as needed.

Contract Requirements:


  • Must have a DoD Secret Clearance or be eligible to acquire one.


Essential Functions & Responsibilities:

  • Fundamental knowledge of client tasking, ability to assist in the execution of program/platform initiatives
  • Review NAVSEA Ship Alteration drawings and load the configuration against the Hull in the Model Based Product Support (MBPS) program
  • Assist in identifying requirements and provide recommendations to senior personnel.
  • Support Various Ship Class leads by communicating with NSWCPD Code 317, Code 311, ISEAs, SMEs and other Warfare Centers or Navy activities as necessary for Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) related issues
  • Participate in monthly Team meetings
  • Investigate and analyze technical data to determine resolutions for ILS deficiencies
  • Develop redlines of logistic products based on engineering and Subject Matter Expert input
  • Prepare briefs and status reports for monthly meetings, etc.
  • Track CDRL deliverables and ILS action items until completion
  • Represent NSWCPD Code 311 and 317 at various internal and external meetings


Required Education, Skills & Experience:

  • A High School or GED is required; bachelor's degree or military (Navy preferred) experience is preferred
  • Experience reviewing HM&E ILS drawings and adding logistics data to Availability Baseline Reports (ABRs)
  • Experience updating and developing COP files/Change Notices in CDMD-OA and utilizing MBPS
  • Ability to investigate issues, coordinate data calls and inputs, develop reports and provide recommendations
  • High comfort level working with all military personnel on all organizational levels
  • Ability to handle high volume of work with changing priorities in fast paced environment


Preferred Skills & Experience:

  • Former Navy service, Federal Civilian service, or DoD Contractor employment
  • Experience with provisioning/supply system terminology
  • Proficient with government logistic databases such as: Logiquest or Haystack, OneTouch, Deckplate, CDMD-OA, PMSMIS, NAVLOGTD, NDE, FEDMALL, Remedy, and MFOM NMD
  • General understanding of SCDs and/or ILS Certifications
  • Researching navy part numbers, NSNs, and APLs
  • Communicating with NSWCPD ISEAs, providing monthly ILS status/metrics, meetings and program reviews


Physical Demands & Expectations:

  • Regular physical activity to include walking, climbing stairs, and standing; frequent periods of prolonged sitting may be required.
  • Ability to speak, read, and write with or without assistance.
  • Ability to use telephone and computer systems, copier, fax and other office equipment.
  • Travel requirements: Less than 5%.
