In this impactful role, you will be instrumental in the development, optimization, and sustainability of manufacturing processes for elastomer materials. You'll ensure efficient production, uphold stringent product quality standards, and drive compliance with industry regulations. Your expertise will be crucial in troubleshooting, process validation, and the implementation of new equipment and technologies, all while collaborating closely with cross-functional teams.

Key Responsibilities and Impact

**Process Engineering & Optimization:**

• Develop, implement, and optimize manufacturing processes for elastomer materials, including molding, extrusion, mixing, and curing techniques (e.g., compression molding, injection molding, calendaring).
• Analyze production data to pinpoint inefficiencies and spearhead continuous improvement initiatives utilizing Lean, Six Sigma, and root-cause problem-solving methodologies.
• Create and maintain comprehensive process documentation, including work instructions, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), control plans, and Process Failure Mode and Effects Analyses (PFMEAs).

**Manufacturing Support:**

• Provide essential day-to-day technical support to production teams, expertly troubleshooting process and equipment issues specific to elastomer manufacturing.
• Define and validate critical process parameters for both new and existing products, ensuring stability, repeatability, and strict compliance with product specifications.
• Oversee tooling design, manage tooling trials, and conduct rigorous qualification processes for elastomer components.

**Equipment & Technology:**

• Specify, validate, and maintain specialized elastomer processing equipment, including mixers, extruders, molding presses, curing ovens, and precision inspection tools.
• Lead or actively support capital equipment projects, encompassing justification, procurement, installation, and validation phases.
• Identify and implement innovative technologies to enhance elastomer flow characteristics, optimize curing chemistry, boost through put, and improve product consistency.

**Safety & Environmental Stewardship:**

• Actively support safety initiatives by identifying and mitigating risks associated with high-temperature processes, chemical mixing, and press operations.
• Ensure unwavering compliance with environmental regulations pertinent to elastomer materials and curing agents.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in manufacturing engineering, with a strong focus on elastomer materials and processes.
• Demonstrated expertise in process development, optimization, and hands-on troubleshooting.
• In-depth knowledge of elastomer molding, extrusion, mixing, and curing processes.
• Proficiency in continuous improvement methodologies such as Lean, Six Sigma, and root-cause analysis.
• Ability to create and maintain detailed process documentation, including SOPs, control plans, and PFMEAs.
• Strong technical aptitude for equipment specification, validation, and maintenance.
• Understanding of safety protocols and environmental regulations within a manufacturing environment.
• Exceptional collaboration and communication skills to effectively partner with cross-functional engineering, quality, safety, and operations teams.
